I'm Karla. Twenty-five years, trained in New York to cut hair dry. That's the whole reason mine blends. One chair, one client, one door that closes.

You don't have to call it anything
Most women who sit in this chair have not been diagnosed with anything. Their bloodwork was fine. Their doctor said it was hormonal or hereditary and there wasn't much to be done, and they left that appointment feeling politely dismissed.
They are just tired of the part. Tired of the four extra minutes every morning, tired of the overhead lights at restaurants, tired of not wearing it up since 2023.
You do not need a diagnosis to sit in this chair, and if you have one it changes nothing — I'm looking at your hair either way. You do not need to call it hair loss. You just need to want your hair back.
Why It Blends
Most people fit hair. I cut it.
Order the hair, fit it, trim the ends so the lengths line up. That's the standard way with extensions, toppers and full pieces alike, and it looks right in the chair on day one.
Then your own hair keeps growing and the piece doesn't. It starts moving as its own separate mass. And the place where you stop and it starts turns up in exactly the lighting you were worried about.

Read.
I cut your hair dry before anything is ordered. Wet hair lies. It stretches, it clumps, it hides the cowlick and disguises where your density actually drops away. Dry is the only way to see how your hair really moves.

Place.
What the read showed me decides what gets ordered and where it sits. How much hair, what density, what base, and which part of your head is carrying it. Standard fitting follows the same pattern on everybody. Yours follows your head. Density is matched to what your own hair can carry, so I'd rather come in under that than over.

Blend.
Then I cut again, dry, with the hair on you. Extensions, topper or full piece, it makes no difference. This is the step almost nobody does, and it's the reason it still looks like yours weeks later, not just on the day.
The Chair
Twenty-five years, and one technique
I learned to cut hair dry in New York, at the John Sahag Workshop on Madison Avenue. That one technique is what this whole studio is built on.
I trained alongside Vivienne Mackinder and Nick Arrojo, and I've been doing hair since the nineties, hair systems for most of that.
Now I work out of one room in Charleston, one client at a time, because that's how this work is supposed to be done.

The Signature Consultation
Forty-five minutes, and no pressure at the end of it

We look at it in daylight.
Hair, scalp, density, how it falls, what your color is actually doing. You'll hear what I see.

I tell you what will work.
Sometimes that's added hair. Sometimes it's a topper. Sometimes it's a better cut and a different color placement, and I'll say so.

You get it in writing.
A written quote, your color match, and a maintenance schedule with real numbers on it, so you know what the year costs before you commit to anything.

You go home and think about it.
Nobody is going to call you twice a day. If it's right, you'll know.
