For twenty-five years I've been behind the chair, trained on Madison Avenue in NYC to cut hair dry, and that's why my work blends seamlessly.
Your experience begins with a 45 minute consultation to design length, color and placement together. The $75 fee is applied toward your service upon booking.
You don't have to call it anything
Many women who sit in this chair have not been diagnosed with anything. Their bloodwork was fine. Their doctor said it was hormonal or hereditary and there wasn't much to be done, and they left that appointment feeling politely dismissed.
They are just tired of the part. Tired of the four extra minutes every morning, tired of the overhead lights at restaurants, tired of not wearing it up since 2023.
You do not need a diagnosis to sit in this chair, and if you have one it changes nothing — I'm looking at your hair either way. You do not need to call it hair loss. You just need to want your hair back.

Why It Blends
Most people fit hair. I do it different.
Most stylists order the hair, fit it, and trim the ends so the lengths match. It looks perfect the day you leave the chair.
Then your own hair keeps growing and the piece doesn't, so it starts moving on its own — and that's exactly the line people are afraid someone will notice.
I was trained to do it the other way around, and it's why my extensions actually blend.

You come in for a consultation and we talk through your vision. I look at your current hair, its texture and color, and we figure out the best option together before anything is ordered.

Place.
What we decide in the consultation shapes everything I order after it — how much hair, what density, what base, and where it actually needs to sit.

Blend.
Then I cut, dry, with the new hair already in. Almost nobody does this step, and it's the reason it still looks like your hair weeks later, not just on the day you leave my chair.

Twenty-five years, and one technique
I learned to cut hair dry in NYC, at the John Sahag Workshop on Madison Avenue, and that one technique is what this whole studio is built on.
I trained alongside Vivienne Mackinder and Nick Arrojo, and I've been doing hair since the nineties. The last several years have been focused specifically on extensions and hair systems.
Now I work out of a private studio in Charleston, one client at a time, because I want you to feel completely taken care of for the whole time you're with me.

BonBon Salon is inside Sola Salon Suites at Westedge. By appointment only, no walk-ins and no crowd, with Karla's full attention for the entire time you're in her chair.
It's an intimate space by design, meant to feel respectful and warm rather than clinical — you're looked after here, not processed.
